I believe this is one of the most powerful songs I've ever heard. I remember the times I'd be sitting in the car with my mom after someone had passed away, singing this song with her. Both musically and lyrically, it captures something essential about dying - both for the one who is gone and the ones who are left behind.

In the past few years, many people in my life have passed away, so I'd like to dedicate this song to them, but especially to Doc Walsh, Eric Harms, Samantha Armstrong, Joey Kaiser, and Sheng Xiong, and to anyone who is gone now.

"Secure yourself to heaven
Hold on tight, the night has come
Fasten up your earthly burdens
You have just begun..."

  • Of course everything you sing is beautiful, but with this song it seems like your out of your comfort zone... does that make sense?

  • Of course, that's completely valid. But I guess it's better for me to go out of my comfort zone sometimes, you know? I don't learn anything otherwise.

  • What'd you use to record yourself harmonizing & over lap yourself?

  • You're a great player and it feels good to see how much passion you have for making music. Frank Zappa said it, girl..."Music's the best." Thanks for sharing. One comment I wish I could make privately but I feel it must be said. Blue is NOT your color. That color killed you. Green, brown, rust...you need earth tones with your hair and complexion. You're a beautiful girl...but when you wear blue like that, it's not nearly as easy to tell. Peace, kiddo.

  • Any way I can buy a copy of this from you?

  • Love this song!
