Watch first, then read:

I forgot to mention that the people who I've asked to collaborate are WAY out of my league, subscriptions-wise. Do you think that's a problem?

Also, the script is a little satirical sketch which is somewhat political. Maybe that's why people don't want to do it; they've got more sense than to alienate a large fraction of their audience with politics.

  • dude look like some sorta fucked up rat

  • Thanks man!

  • Hey JJC1138, did you send the script along with the email askign them to be in the collab? If you did, and they didn't get back to you, they're assholes. Everyone should at least reply and say no thanks. I try to every time. If I feel comfortable with the script, I'll do it, it doesn't matter the subscriber count, I recorded a clip today for someone with twelve subs. But he asked nicely and his script was fine so. Cool.

  • Thanks for the comments Alan. Yeah, I did send the script -- I'm starting to have to consider the possibility that maybe it just isn't very good. ;-)

I wouldn't go so far as to say they're assholes for not replying. It can be quite difficult to say no politely, so I can understand why people might put it off and then not get around to it. I realized that I had been doing just that with someone who had written to me (not YT-related) so I sat down and wrote a reply for the sake of karma.

  • HOW DARE YOU!

  • I'd like to see the collab, blackmailing usually does the trick ^_^

  • Yeah, that sounded harsher in text than it did in my head. I said it with a smile. It does get frustrating waiting for responses that never come. It really isn't that hard to say "thanks, but I'm not interested" or something similar. We've all had to do it for various things. Good luck with it if you decide to contact others.

  • Yeah definitely. That's why I'll still drop anything I'm working on for Nalts or MGM or Buck. They were so good to me when people were like "Alan who?" and regardless of other people's opinions of some of them, I found them to be great people who just wanted to have some fun with the videos.

  • Smosh, yeah!...I wasn't surprised that LisaNova would do it now but a year ago, yes I would've been. I've had very good responses from Buck when he was relatively unknown and recently.

When I only had 4 subs for 6 months SarryCrey, Twish1999 and richw4 were big fish to me and were very nice and inclusive. You remember that later on.

  • Smosh. lol

I would have said LisaNova before. I've actually contacted her a couple times in the past with no response, and then last month she contacted me which kinda blew me away. She apologized for before, said she was really busy with work, then let me hand her any script I had written for her to perform, It was was great.

  • and see you do have something to say...
