  • A true magician

  • Wow! Great performance and great new(?) music! Who is the composer, and why on earth would I have to be asking that after seeing a posting of Youtube. The composer deserves more respect that he is getting from whoever posted this. Please remedy this oversight soon.

  • I just saw him in concert. It was a breathtaking experience.

  • Turns out Pandolfo himself is the composer of the work, according to his website. Exciting stuff. What an absolutely brilliant piece of music.

  • this is Paolo Pandolfo's composition. There's an entire cd made up of his own music

  • @ivoryconsort I believe this is one of his compositions. and typical of the era, much of it is improvised. so there is a a standard "chart" and from there it is whatever he makes of it. think a jazz musician.

  • I had never even heard of this instrument before hearing it on radio 3 today, and its sound has already taken me away from the desk. Paolo's thrusts at 1:42 are ravishing.

  • Fantastic. Bravo!

  • Why don't you list the name of the composer of this work?

  • wow! this is deeeeeep

  • Three cheers for Mr. Pandolfo! This is a very wonderful, exciting and dramatic piece of music. Indeed it should become one of the gamba "standards" What is also nice is that we see a new composition for this grandest of instruments.

We should hope that more works of this caliber are composed soon!
