'Close That Gap' - ARIA Awards 2010

This clip was created as part of an ongoing 'hip hop literacy' mentoring program with Toby Finlayson and Matthew Priestley from Desert Pea Media, and young people from the remote Aboriginal community of Collarenebri NSW.

'Close That Gap' was created as an entry into the Generation One 'Hands Across Australia' Schools Competition, and won the 'Highly Commended' Award.

It was also entered in the People's Choice Awards and received over 50,000 votes!!!

As a result, the Generation One staff offered the 2010 Aria Awards a sponsorship package, which included bring Toby Finlayson and seven young people from Collarenebri to Sydney to rehearse for 7 days and perform at the 2010 ARIA Awards in the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House.
