Brent Spiner (Lt. Commander Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation) guest-stars on an episode of Deadly Games", aired on October 17, 1995. Part 1 of 8.

"Deadly Games" was a UPN TV series that premiered in September 1995. It ran through January 1996 with 12 episodes, and according to IMDB, a 13th episode aired in July 1997. The following is a quote from IMDB outlining what the show was about:

"To take his mind off his divorce, antimatter physicist Gus Lloyd started programming an action video game where he was the hero, his ex-wife Lauren Ashborne was the sidekick, and his father Jordan Kenneth Lloyd was Sebastian Jackal, a satanic figure who wanted to destroy the world with an army of thugs based on the people who made Gus' life a living hell. The antimatter experiments Gus and his friend Peter Rucker were running went haywire, reading the game's villain file and sending them into the real world to act out their programming. Gus, Lauren, and Peter are then forced to play the game for real."

The main characters are Gus Lloyd (played by James Calvert), Lauren Ashborne (played by Cynthia Gibb), Peter Rucker (played by Stephen T. Kay, who was in 30 episodes of "General Hospital" during 2002-2003), and Sebastian Jackal (played by Christopher Lloyd, probably best known as Dr. Emmett Brown in the "Back to the Future" trilogy).

It may be interesting to note that Leonard "Spock" Nimoy was one of the show's executive producers, and that the music was written by one of the Star Trek composers, Dennis McCarthy.

Brent Spiner guest-starred in Episode #7, "The Practical Joker", as a "bad buy" named Danny Schlect. This particular episode was directed by Adam Nimoy, son of Leonard Nimoy.

Enjoy!

  • My bro is obseesed with finding the series! This is the one I remember the most anyways. Wasn't it the season finale?

  • @badjohnfaglie: I don't think this was the season finale. It was somewhere in the middle of the season.

  • Shame you only had this ep but that's OK because 1 is infinitely greater than 0 (and 0 is exactly how many Deadly Games eps I've seen in the last 10 years--that show was just starting to hit its stride when UPN cancelled it, and for what--a couple crappy sitcoms called Homeboys In Outer Space and The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer). Thanks!

  • @markrabo: I never watched the show; I just watched this one because Brent was in it.

  • Brent Spiner is an underrated talent.

  • @admtm24: Yes, he certainly is!

  • I think I just lost my virginity to this video...

  • oh my God, it's Lore in a yellow suit...

  • WOW. I remember this. This was one of my favorite episodes, along with the ice lady and the jock with the limp.

  • He just outdid the Lore creep factor with "my work here is done!" o.O Gotta love brent

  • I loved that show. Evil Shirley was the best!

  • I watched this show from it's beginning, it had such a great premise, maybe it would have lasted longer on FOX.

  • I really love to see Brent Spiner on an other show as star trek but it looks like this series kinda sucked...

  • @cLa007 lol I was having the same thought.

  • Brent would make a good Joker! At least for voice over work.
