I stay right next to the depot in the steel houses (or tin town as it's came to be known) i can still remember like yesterday the noise of all the different engines as they sat idling merrily outside the depot especialy the whistle from the class 20's turbocharger.
We had the same response in the early 70/s.we were given leaflets about an up and coming open day as we walked in without an invite !!!!!!!!,thats Eastfield i mean,at haymarket didnt get the personal touch so went in anyway
Many thanks for posting this, brought back some great memories of my well spent youth! Thanks also to the good men of ED and particularly the time office staff who let groups of us spotty teenagers wander round at will most saturday afternoons!
