  • Marvelous performance -- as another poster said, really conveys the message of the piece! Captures the motion of the various lines wonderfully throughout. I've loved this piece for as long as I can remember -- my father was a fine organist (head of organ faculty at the American Conservatory in Chicago) and I used to love to hear him play it. Love the huge fermata on the final chord.

  • @JPLodine Thank you! Glad you like it.

  • Thank you so much

  • Gosh, I only just now happened upon this rendering. chamade16, THANKS for putting up this marvelous recording. I am usually very partial to this piece performed on French organs, but this one bears it's own special majesty and I believe as one said earlier, embodies much of what Messiaen intended.

  • @omahas9000: thanks so much for your generous comments

  • This has to be one of THE best recording of Dieu Parmi Nous I have ever heard! the phrasing is so clear.... considering the accoustics at Gloucester Cathedral, i was expecting some of the phrasing to be some what 'muddy' but no it is perfect! not rushed like so many performers showing off that they can play fast... but it really really portrayed the message that Messiaen was sending out.... thank you so much for posting!

  • Certainly is! Especially after playing the entire cycle in a darkened cathedral on a winter's night. Thanks for commenting.
