@GeneralDelta 1) I do agree, this was over dramatic lol.. 2) He was trying to simulate a drive failure, that why he took it out. 3) u can remove drives with standard raid, u stand correct.. Raid 1 , 5, 6, 1+0 , etc.. However the Drobo can have any size hdd, mismatch is fine.. Also i've seen a demo of the drobo remove all the hdd except 1 and the data was still there, and movie still streaming! this doesn't happen with raid 1, 5, or 6... It's a pretty decent product, but ya video was overdone lol

Wow this is dumb. 1) Talking about being over dramatic. 2) You do not pull a drive out like that with real data, what if it decided to take a dump right then? 3) What is this BS of not being able to do this with standard RAID? RAID 1, 5 and 6 could easily do that. I run RAID 1 for my primary drive on my Mac Pro and I had a drive failure and recovered without any hickups.
This isn't to knock the Drobo. It's a fine product and I just bought one, but I had to comment on the drama and BS.
It's full of magic!
