We had the opportunity to speak with Gary Shapiro CEO of CEA.Gary Shapiro is president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the U.S. trade association representing more than 2,000 consumer electronics companies and owning and producing the continent's largest tradeshow, the International CES®. Gary is the author of the New York Times bestseller "The Comeback: How Innovation Will Restore the American Dream," published in January 2011 with a foreword by Mark Cuban. Gary also writes a weekly column for Forbes.com called "The Comeback: Innovation Economy." Gary argues how innovation, when supported by a policy environment that enables entrepreneurship and technology-led change, can drive the U.S. economic recovery. Few people are more qualified to speak about technology-led change than Gary. As head of the CEA, Gary has led the technology industry for more than 20 years through seismic shifts, most recently from analog to digital TV. He has testified before Congress on HDTV and other technology and business issues more than 20 times.
