Here we chase NS P47 led by an ex-conrail GP40-2 to the paper plant. Three extra engines are braught up to the top of the climb. They will be used later to bring a train down the mountain. After droping off the engins P47 continues, passing a freight, and continueing to the paper plant. The layout is a freelanced layout the is a fictional line located in the smokey mountains. Hope you enjoy the video!

  • What up with the roofwalk at 1:36? I thought this was supposed to be a modern layout. Roofwalks have been banned from interchange by the FRA since the 60's. Other than that, a splendid video.

  • That was the very fist car I weathered so i like to keep it around. haha i didnt know that though. thanks!

  • Heyy Josh do Yo Still Have this Conrail Unit?

  • I sure do! Ime shipping your engine out tomorrow by the way. I had to replace the ditchlight so thats why it took an extra day. The 2 bucls in there is the 2 left over from shipping.

  • Ok amn Sounds good, i was wondering can i have the Shipping Code they gave you so i can track the Engine

  • nice video!, how did you wire your layout?

  • how did you wire your layout?

  • Removing the roofwalk and leaving the gusset plates would also work. I've done that.

  • Oh Ok, didn't know. I have a lot of boxcars with roofwalks that i never use because I model BNSF in 1996. What I do to sneek a couple in is use BNSF predicessors such as GN, BN, ATSF, CB&Q, and use them for local industry or MOW trains. Because they are on BNSF tracks, they have never been interchanged, so therefore they can be used. In your case if the boxcar would have been say a conrail boxcar with a roofwalk, it would be acceptable because it would not be interchanged.

  • I love your concept for ur layout, before i decided to do NEC inner city, I was gonna model East Tennessee with a rail line I called CAW Central Appalachia and Western, but my yearning to do inner city was too great. GREAT VID! Ten thumbs up!!

  • I freaking LOVE those standard cab Dash8-40Cs you got, sooooo nice :)

  • Hey I've seen a lot of your benchwork, and I don't think it would be too hard for you to finish your layout. It would look really good. Nice vid! 5/5* & Fav.
