9 The Dhol Foundation Asian Arts Agency Bhangra Project

Part 9 of nine short films of the Bristol Harbour Regatta in 2008. A Dhol is a large drum and this is at the heart of the music. Dhol Foundation music has been used on films such as Gangs of New York and the Incredible Hulk. The Gangs of New York theme is captured live here on camera. Before the Dhol Foundation came on stage to play, there had been a break in the proceedings, so there is almost no one around to begin with, but very quickly people were attracted to the music and joined in.
