A Loyalist and Republican callers (one after the other LITERALLY!) give their views on the recent shootings in Northern Ireland, leaving two soldiers and a policemen dead. Splinter groups of the Irish Republican Army (IRA) have claimed responsiblity for the attacks. The attacks were condemned by both the Catholic and Protestant communities alike.

According to George Galloway, the two callers are suggesting that they should resume the fighting in Northern Ireland by bringing British troops to the country, an allegation which is ducked by both callers. Galloway calls both callers 'armchair revolutionaries', because to paraphrase what Galloway said: They are sitting comfortably in their chairs, wishing to see more blood shed.

Wow, the bizarre contrast between the two callers are quite amazing, AND calling from two parts of Glasgow. The first guy calling for the British troops to be sent back into Northern Ireland while the second guy believes the shootings are justified for a united Ireland.

  • These kinds of videos give rise to more armchair revolutionaries making themselves look like dickheads by leaving ignorant, sectarian and bigoted comments on YouTube. It's very easy to sling mud when you don't have to give your real name. Have some fucking balls.

  • @seanogcon thou shall not steal ... ahahahahahahah says an american living on stolen land . ahahahahahahahaha.. dumb as fuck

"1998 Northern Ireland Act"??? Do you mean the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement?

The NI Assembly, just like the Edinburgh Parliament, can call an Independence Referendum anytime they want! There's just not much point with support for leaving the UK so low is there?

But it won't be based on whether Catholics, Prods or No Religion are the majority, it will be based on Political Will, not what the pulpit preaches kiddo! There's not even a Majority of Caths in favour of a UI!

  • @gapamu66

"survey results prove nothing except a projection of what people think"??

Eh, that's exactly what you want a survey to tell you genius! And for at least the last decade, support for a UI has hovered around the 20% mark, dipping to 16% in 2010.

Also FYI, the "Youth" are not the apathetic ones, it's invariably from those too young to have lived thru' the Troubles, that the Dissadent Terrorists support comes; not those old enough to know better!

    What "Unification referendum"??

  • @DonegalRaymie201 BTW the overwhelming feeling in the 6 Counties about joining a bankrupt Ireland is negative but there was a part of the 1998 Northern Ireland Act, which is claimed that if the census reveals the Catholic population is a majority then there COULD be a referendum on unification, BUT while middle class Catholics are earning good money under the UK government, that too would be a stumbling block to any unification

  • @DonegalRaymie201 from the CAIN report and the Sunday Post report in Ireland, and and furthermore until every single Catholic is asked personally if they would like re-unification then survey results prove nothing except a projection of what people think, most of the apathy comes from the younger members of the community that have been "unaffected" by the troubles, and why was the Unification referendum called ??

  • @gapamu66

Where the hell did you pull that figure from then? 10% my arse!

Just look at the NILT (Northern Ireland Lift and Times), survey results, and acquaint yourself with the facts of the matter!

In 2010, support for a United Ireland fell to 16% across the entire population, and just 33% in the RC community!

Furthermore in 1998, we in the ROI renounced any claim to NI by dropping the claim from our Constitution, following a Referendum. Do you know what % voted for it??

  • @gapamu66

Where are you getting this pish? And how exactly did you reach "by my own calculation support for Sinn Fein" conclusion? How many NI folk did you survey from Glasgow, pray tell?

"Sinn Fein support has sky rocketed above every other Political party" Eh?? Have you never even heard of the DUP? And who is NI 1st Minister?
