    There are believed to be only two labs in the world still holding smallpox, one in the USA and one in Russia. One justification used is that somehow there might be an outbreak of Smallpox' wild cousin, Monkeypox, or that someone might weaponise Monkeypox to be more like its eradicated relative.

    No countries now have cases of smallpox. It's been eradicated since 1978.
