This is a part of a robot swarm project .

In this film you can see the two robots getting commands from the upper hierarchy and working together. .

The robot higher hierarchy and communication is a PDA that control the robot controller thru rs232 and a special protocol .

This robot doing a dead reckoning with 2 optical mouse , and a pic 16f877 as a PS2 host and robot controller.

The PDA communicate with other robots and the an upper hierarchy thru WIFI

  • No one is not sufficient.

    With 2 optical mouse I can distinguish between skidding to the side and rotating.

    If the front and the back mouse showing the same direction on the X axis it is skidding if they show an opposites direction it is rotating.

    This system can work on omni directional platform as well.

    If you'll add a third mouse you will be able to fined error's between the mousse.

  • Why use 2 optical mouse? Isnt one sufficient?
