Magdalene Asylums and Magdalene Laundries

Many women since the 1800's were in imprisoned by their families in these Magdalene Asylums or Magdalene Laundries - prisons ran by nuns in countries like Ireland, Australia and more.

These women would have been better off in real prisons rather than in these places where they were supposed to be protected, but were rather exploited.

The way that the nuns administered this corrupt business of exploiting women for free labor was optimizing on a country like Ireland, a country that was at the time devastated by poverty and the assistance of social services was overcrowded.

The families suffered under great pressure to have their children - who had stained their good name by becoming pregnant out of wedlock - institutionalized and placed in the care and trust of the nuns and priests.

Families were encouraged by the church to commit their children to this illegal imprisonment of the Magdalene Laundries at the start of the 20th century when these houses were handed over to the Catholic Church that put a massive and more severe regiment in place.

The care of these houses was placed in the hands of these nuns, who obligated these young women to wash the white clothes of the hotels, universities and institutions 10 to 12 hours a day, seven days a week without a salary in return.

A society manipulated into thinking that having a child out of wedlock was a sin, , considered this to be the best form of abolishing their "sins". For the girls, upon arriving, had their hair cut, had their baptismal names changed for a holy catholic one and eliminated all contact with the outside world. The reality was that in changing their name, no one could later track these women and they would change their identity altogether.

They were not allowed books, magazines or any contact with their families. In most cases, they were not even allowed to speak to each other.

The victims describe their existence in the asylums or laundry houses to be worse than being in prison. The Magdalene laundries were denied even the most minimal amount of right maintained in any prison.

Detained against their will, some of these women spent their lives imprisoned behind the walls of the convents of the Magdalenes.

They lived and died away from the outside world, the fact that they were in these institutions was such a great shame, that many have ran and hidden.

A pregnancy outside of marriage was considered outside the grace of Christ and the child of these so-called "sinners" was considered to be in danger. In danger of being lost throughout the seven generations that followed, therefore, the children of these unknown mothers were sent to orphanages until the age of seventeen, after which they were sent to these Magdalene Laundries for the pardoning of the sins of their mothers. You can see the evil and corrupt cycle employed by the nuns unto women and their innocent children.
In these Magdalene Laundries or asylums they lived with constant hunger and abusive beatings as they were never properly fed. In 1996, the last of the Magdalene Laundry was closed. Leaving many thousands of women left feeling incapable of facing the outside world after being released.

To date, the Catholic Church has not asked for forgiveness nor have they paid and indemnity for these hideous crimes. A lot of these women have left Ireland or Australia to try and live their lives in England or maybe far away as possible, in search of a new beginning. It is estimated that 30,000 women lived and died in these Magdalene Laundries. Many of these women are asking for justice, meeting with the Government demanding for help, knocking on the doors of the nuns demanding answer, but as of 2011, they refuse to respond.

The Protect Your Children Foundation invites you to take a look at the organized crime schemes orchestrated by the Catholic Church:

  • @annfreespirit May God bless you child

  • Let's not forget in Ireland, and I mean N. Ireland there were also institutions just like these for protestants. They too closed down around the same time. I know, I was there and all at the word of my mother who still lives to this day, (so much for Karma). Any child put in institutions such as these are scarred for life.

  • this is something that is never spoken of. swept under the rug.

  • The pic at 1:43 look like it belongs to some concentration camp...

  • Any comment here under the heading 53sean is a pseudonym for Sean Taniane of Polleighter, Kilkerrin, Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland. I want to put this on the record in this medium because I do not want to hide behind empty words and if anybody thinks for a single moment that I do not have the courage of my convictions they certainly would not want to put it to the test.

  • I deplore violence in any way shape or form or the killing of any living thing unless it is an absolute necessity but I would would take great pleasure in riding the world of this band of cancerous Satanists and had it being left to me I would do the job myself. Having said that, the writing is on the wall for the Catholic Church and it is only a matter of time before they vanish to whence they came and that is, straight in to the hottest corner of Hell.

  • so sad those poor woman it should never have happend

  • @annfreespirit It is a system of slavery, sex slaver using torture as a mind control technique, and a hypnotic religion for mind control technique. They are satanic be sure, a church that follows pagan rites of ancient mysteries schools gone mad. I would not call it a house of god, I would call it a dark and sinister shed of hell.
