I agree captain jack is my hero for many reasons one being because Ianto and his relationship was the first gay relationship that i saw a main tv character having with it being portrayed as a normal romance that no big fuss was made over - it wasn't all 'holyshit I'm gay' melodrama and wasnt played for laugths.
John himself is also brillaint for showing sceptics that gay people are normal and not freaks or extremly feminine. He is also a truly kind, polite, and lovable guy.
