GreaT video...being stuck in toxic gulf coast, it's amazingly beautiful up there... loved watching... I love snow,, but WOW... the residents are definately unique and love hearing more about such a unique place that captured my attention years ago....

I just watch Alaska Troopers tonight an seen this little Island town here of Diomede.Pretty neat that its so close to Russia can people come there an spend a weeks vacation there?

Many of "those life necessities" you reply are life necessities for your standards and how you learned to live.Many consider internet for example as a life necessity.These people have a school there, families, fishing and their peace of mind isolated from the world's all bad things.
I bet i couldn't live there more than a month. But that's cause i got used to another way of living.
Their only connection to the "world" is by helicopter and boat for 4 months of the year.

So how do they get groceries and all those life necessities.
Are there helicopter shipment's there and stuff?

dammit, there is NO way of saying this without sounding like the dirtiest hippy in the VW van, but that brought me a much needed moment of peace. also, i love glimpses into whole other lifestyles, so just a general yay and thanks :)
