Superman IV: The Quest for Peace is a 1987 film, the last of the Superman theatrical movies starring Christopher Reeve as the Man of Steel. In this film, Superman battled Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) and his creation, a solar-powered evil clone of Superman called Nuclear Man.
Unlike the previous three movies, which were produced by Alexander and Ilya Salkind, the fourth movie was produced by Golan-Globus' Cannon Films, in association with Warner Bros.

Nuclear Man? How dated~ It was clearly code for Communist Cold War Bad Guy just ike today's Terrorists are said to wear turbans and affiliate with oil and airplanes, Is there an actor alive with enough manhood to fill that blue codpiece? We need a new bastard son of Jorel to step up
I loved this as a kid, but seeing it now I'm almost in tears ... it's such a hideous way to end the series when you think of how great the first one was!
The first one is only great if you enjoy sitting through an origin story. Superman IV at least was different. We saw Superman lots, he went up against a villain just like himself, only downfall with this movie was it was made by a studio who did not know how to make a superhero movie, then when it was complete cut the movie up and released 90 mins of a 134 minute movie.
Actually I think the downfall was the shitty script and the $20 budget ... it's not like he didn't do the movie with the best of intentions, and I like some of the message, but I'm not judging on intent, I'm judging on results!
