"Forever Young" by the Soweto Gospel Choir
In Memory of Rich a lover of history, politics and Africa; an avid collector of hundreds of Andy Warhol's earliest works; a wonderful Godfather; a good friend. I will always remember Rich for his interesting stories about time spent with JFK- for his exciting tales of the many safaris he took to AFRICA... his love of the endangered mountain gorillas, and for loving Africa so much that he decided to "retire" to Capetown - for his ongoing quest for eternal youth- for his enjoyment of the finer things in life.....while at the same time always pinching his pennies - for his willingness to become Sarah's godfather and for putting up with screaming kids at Toys R US while shopping for a baby present (well, to be truthful, he wasn't very patient with the screaming kids)- for his annual calls every Christmas morning...before he headed out to the beach for the day - for all of the summers he spent with our family - for always reminding us that we needed to allow plenty of time for "drinks" BEFORE dinner and to not forget to get pretzel rods -for all of his compliments on my spaghetti sauce -for his enjoyment of sitting in front of a warm fire in our rocking chair while reading the Sunday New York Times - for his Sunday morning CVS "weekly sale" trips -for the many times he fell asleep on the couch in the den during a movie he had insisted on watching ... and I would quietly change the channel to watch something totally different- for always saying "kids have rights" when I tried to discipline my children- for his wealth of knowledge about Brooks history - for his appreciation of all things NYC - for tolerating my singing "just give me the warm power of the sun..." every single time we drove by the Seabrook nuclear power plant on our way up to have lobster and steamed clams at Markey's - for his love of the beach and surfing at Rye Beach Club-for always asking me if I had found any new renditions of the song..."forever young" (he never got to hear this one) - for flying all the way up from John's Island for Sarah's rehearsal dinner and wedding on a snowy New Year's Eve....for starting the African Exchange Program and for his incredible devotion to exposing as many people as he possibly could to his beloved AFRICA...his second "home". Throughout the years, he has given me enough memories to fill a lifetime. He will be missed.

Cheers to a full and memorable life, Rich. RIP my good friend. I will never forget you... and in my heart, you will always remain...."forever young". xoxo ~deb
