Or you could just go to ubuntu.com and find the link to the universal usb installer, from there you can download the iso image, format your flash drive, and make it bootable.

Nowadays if you want to make a bootable USB flash drive, all you have to do is boot from an Ubuntu Live CD, go into System>Administration>USB Startup Disk Creator. It's that simple.

sorry for the noob questions :
1. How do i know my bios support booting via usb?
Because i think my computer is like 5+ years old and previously i never noticed there is any option of booting through usb drive, and i only had hdd to boot as my dvdrom is a gone case. Should i just give it a try? or is there any option of re-setting my bios to boot from usb?
2. How do i mirror image my boot file in hdd which was factory set? Im using a dell inspiron 640m
Many thanks appreciated
