Go with Honda! You pay more money, but you get long time performance and high quality vs a aftermarket, maybe 3 years and that is it! and that is using it not too often, you pay what you get.

@draziweeht Isn't that an inverter generator, meaning the generator head produces 12 volts that is transferred to a 2000 watt internal inverter ? If so, that thing has probably blown various electronics like the bridge rectifier and other diodes on the control board. Glad to hear it's still in warranty, sounds like a very costly repair otherwise.

it quit producing full voltage, it now outputs 49 volts AC, and burned out a 110v FAN i was using in the RV while camping, I am going to take the HW into the local authorized service center (lawn mower shop) for repair, its still within the warranty period. I was really likeing it until this happened

how do you like your gen ? is it holding up pretty good ?

Thanks, excellent demonstration, just closed the deal on one while watching.
yes, its an inverter generator, there is not transformer to step up the voltage, so the alternator puts out a multi-phase voltage that greater than 120v, this voltage is then used to driver the inverter section,
higher voltage means the alternator wiring can be smaller gauge and no transformer is needed in the inverter, basically it just needs to chop & pulse the voltage to produce the simulated sinewave
but yes, something on the inverter control board has gone out.
