Philadelphia Zoo Tua and Batu Swinging By Herself

Tua is now letting tiny Batu go off and swing all by her tiny little self, way up high. And what an expert acrobat Batu is!

An interesting AP article states that "... these notoriously solitary apes once lived in much higher densities. We believe hunting may have caused a change in behavior, causing them to be less social." It is also interesting to note that in zoos, orangutans ARE social. (Score another point in favor of zoos!)
