This recipe shows how to prepare rice "KCB-style", with canned fish. King's College, Budo, is a really cool, mixed, boarding secondary school, near Kampala. Students, at least a while ago, used to find ways of making use of the canned fish they got after working on the school farm. The fish & other food items were donated by the World Food program (WFP). This is one of the ways that fish was used. Check out http://www.orbituganda.com/ for more recipes & other interesting stuff.

Yes, it's quite easy. I mostly prepare enough for at least 2 meals. I'm sure it can be improved/varied, though by probably using more fish + playing with spices.

  • That looks easy. Seems a perfect one-pot meal. I sometimes do a week's meals at a time and freeze them in single-meal microwaveable containers for those days when i have no time to cook. This seems just perfect for that.

Curry, black pepper & garlic where used, but as suggested there, feel free to use other or your favorite spices for rice dishes. Check out the written recipe on our site for more details. Link shown is shown above under "More info".

  • hello what are the spices you used please
