@Rizzlehawaii why would you ever have an Weakside OLB in a 4-4 on the inside? you already have 4 OTHER GUYS who are built to handle the middle. You would never build a defense that has a single person (DE) playing straight up on a guy and also expected to hold contain. played and coached a lot more than high school football. You must be a disciple of the Expert Village football scheme. Let me know how that turns out for you.

the middle linebackers never have gap coverage. they read the gaurds and look for the ball carrier

not at all the 4-4 is not a difficult defense

p manning likes to run multiple recievers to go against this type of defense because the big boys cannot cover receivers that well ......im sure one could sub in db instead of a lb but that will take away its strength.......you know?...god bless

yea but the DE has out side containment and the weakside LB has the gap so if u pull the right OG and he pick up the LB thats 6

so true. This guys explanation of 4-4 is very vague and elementary. Usually the OLB have D gap responsibility, or outside contain
