The RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship powered by Dick's Sporting Goods evolved out of the National Long Drive Championship, which began in 1975. It has grown from a mostly low-key event to one that includes golfers from virtually every corner of the world. Competitors come from more than 125 countries, and vie for a purse worth over $450,000. The RE/MAX World Long Drive Finals are tape-delayed to air each year during the Christmas season on ESPN and ESPN2, and have become a holiday tradition.
2009 marked the fifteenth year that RE/MAX has sponsored the event. In the early years, drives of 325 yards gave hitters a chance at finishing in the money." Today—hitters typically need to drive the ball at least 350 to 360 yards to advance to the qualifying rounds.
Each year an excess of 10,000 competitors attempt to qualify for the RE/MAX Finals. These qualification events occur at approximately 300+ sites around the globe. The 2010 RE/MAX Finals qualifying kicks off at the Diamond in the Desert Classic in Mesquite, NV on the Championship Grid.

If DJ cuts it loose, he could come close to competing. Quiros as well.

@Tgoulos532 i think the wind exerted on every Boom made the ball go 10 yards further.

@Nightwing690 HAHAHA yeh . . . sure JB , DJ bubba they are long hitters and they hit it what ? 310 , 315 of avg . Jamie hit it 386 of carry , those guys has nothing to do against long drives champions when it comes to distance

@Nightwing690 john daly in his prime was destroyed by average long drivers in the pinnacle challenge i think it was, you have no idea how long these guys are
gsclelo 1 year ago
ya know, you could put JB Holmes, Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson, and John Daly up against these guys and they'd probably make these muscle heads sweat and worry
