How to download closed captions (subtitles) from YouTube videos

In this video I will show you how to download the closed captions (or subtitles) from a YouTube video.

Managed to download the subtitles just fine, but unfortunately Opera drops the file extension (and adds .torrent for whatever reason), so I don't know which format the subtitles are in. To what should I change the extension manually?

@xoxochitra What doesn't work? Are you sure the video you're using uses closed captions and not annotations?

It doesn't work for transcribed audio, and the site says it does. Did Youtube change something again in their infrastructure that interferes with the transcribed audio download?
