San Francisco celebrated the Arbor Day on Saturday, March 6. Over 500 volunteers helped prune 74 trees, plant 60 trees and 85 shrubs, spread 90 yards of mulch, clean streets and sidewalks, remove graffiti from 112 pieces of street furniture and from more than 9,000 square feet of public and private property, and beautify Alemany Farm, Alemany Farmers Market, Alemany Boulevard, Holly Court Housing Facility, Mission and Geneva Sidewalk Garden, Crocker Amazon Playground, Lavender Garden, at Stoneybrook and Cambridge streets, Congdon and Trumbull streets, and Brotherhood Way.
