Balinese and Indian dances appear to have originated from the same Vedic fount. Though the two dances have evolved separately, there are a number common themes and ideas. One such resemblance is Pushpanjali. Tari Puspanjali is a traditional Balinese dance where the dancers worship gods and greet the audiences with flowers. In the Indian Bharatanatyam repetoire, Pushpanjali is an invocatory dance piece where the dancer salutes the presiding deity, the Guru and the audience with flowers. This item presents a tandem of Tari and Bharatanatyam.
