Soccer Aid films - Elle Macpherson in Ukraine

The Soccer Aid TV programme, broadcast in May 2006, included six films featuring UNICEF Ambassadors telling the stories of children whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS, malaria, malnutrition, lack of education, lack of clean water and abandonment. These are the areas of our work that money raised by Soccer Aid supports.

In this film, UNICEF Ambassador Elle Macpherson speaks about UNICEF's work in Ukraine to prevent children from being abandoned by their mothers. In Ukraine, the number of young children placed in state care institutions has doubled over the last 10 years as many families struggle to provide essentials for their children.
