Wow! I too, grew up on Evie. I had the songbook and wore out our piano by playing this beautiful and haunting melody over and over. Right now my Mom is in the hospital with a serious illness. So, it is wonderful to remember happier days of my youth with this music as the backdrop. Thank you!

@MrMangoman69 You are most welcome. And believe me I get as much out of it as y'all do. My prayers go out to your mother, you and your family. My own mother is the one who gave me my love of music. And I've played this one quite a few times myself. Just wish I could play the flute sometimes. It's the most beautiful part of the song for me. Well, besides all the rest of course.

@the4cast You know, that's the very reason I uploaded it. I had to dig out the LP, and it was in amazingly good shape. Dad was a wonder he was. A friend helped me do the converting, and I uploaded it. Thought maybe there might be others who wanted to listen to it too. Am so glad to know I was right. And glad you found it. :-}

dude, i loved this song in grade school. Travelling across the country this came up on our 8-track, I think I made my parents ill b/c I asked them to play it so much. :) thanks for posting. Was searching for this track today, and only had the chorus and some of the words. Glad I found it!
