The Scottish violinist, composer and dancing teacher James Scott Skinner was one of the most
prolific composers of Scottish fiddle pieces in the 19th century. The Cradle Song was Skinners most famous slow air and was inspired by the scene of a woman caring for a sick child.
Performed by:
Chris Duncan, Julian Thompson & Catherine Strutt.
I may have to listen to this like once a day. It is too beautiful not to.

This is a simple, yet, exceptional slow air. I had to get the notes and learn it the day I heard this. I am surprised that it isn't heard a lot more by more artists.
