the money is crap in ship yards and the bosses are idiots , i got into pipe fitting welding and also engineering maintenance at chemical plant ,i just tested out on asme1x /bsen287 tig and mma 6g position on stainless and carbon,i enjoy the welding but prefer engineering maintenance as a job because the money is double shipyard money.. good luck though fella

I believe, about the 8 hours. I also believe in the inexperience of the welders - "it's a challenge being a welder - ARE YOU FOR REAL???????? all it takes a great attitude to be a brain surgeon, or a welder. THIS IS THE EXACT REASON WHY WELDER WAGES HAVE BEEN DRIVEN INTO THE GROUND. WE HAVE BEEN RPLACED BY A MACHINE......OH YEAH, WE HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY A MACHINE OF GREED! C'mon people! If it were easy, don't you think everyone would be doing it????
