This is an unedited outtake from a longer film I did on Paul Mawhinney. This little rant didn't work in the overall film but it is interesting and people have been asking about it. So here it is. Enjoy.

Also, you can see the full film here: http://www.vimeo.com/1546186

  • This is a true story.

  • @rlholo Bowie wasn't doing much in America at that time. In England he was getting big but in America he was very underground. After the release of Space Oddity in the US in 1973, he became big. This is an actual / factual story.

  • @liondick69 this is a true story. everyone in pittsburgh knows this to be 100% fact.

  • This is revisionist history. Bowie had a mega hit with Ziggy Stardust which was released before 1973 (Suffragette City) in 1973 he released Aladdin Sane (Jean Genie) If anyone "Launched" Bowie's career, it was Bowie. He invented Glam, (or was among the very small handful of people who did)

  • What a crock.

  • @xmakx37 I checked out the wikipedia page. If you click on the source of that information (which is this link, w w w . recordrama. c o m/david_bowie.htm) it takes your right back to this video. So basically it's just his word of it. You sholdn't believe everything your read in wikipedia.

  • Maybe he wasn't only collecting all this 70ies music but also living a real rock'n'roll-life with too much sex'n'drugs'alcohol: Space Oddity was released in the U.S. in '72, not in '73. Besides that, Bowie had become a huge Star in Europe with "Ziggy Stardust" - it was defenitely not a question of 300 copies of one song for a genius like David Bowie to become huge all over the world! There's no doubt that it was all up to him due to all that Angies and Pauls who talk nonsens and believe it....

  • Poor man is deluded. He is lost in a cloud of too much vinyl. Far above the moon... Planet Earth is blue, and there's nothing he can do...

  • @JohnCandyFanChannel lol butt hurt much?
