Marty Robbins is the greatest singer ever! Whatever he sings is always a joy to hear!!!
-
It seems that no matter what, or whose song Marty sings, his is always the best; as tho it was written for him.

It's not a competition, folks. Each singer (any singer that can get it done, that is) brings an aspect of their personality to a song, it's impossible to say who's better because it's all a matter of taste. Every listener will bring something of themselves when they listen and relate to one or the other's version more readily. This is a damn fine version that doesn't take anything away from Jenning's. Both versions are out there, why do we have to choose?

Fair comment. Although I am a dyed in the wool Robbins fan, there are certain songs that I have heard by other singers which I prefer to Marty's, e.g. 'That's Alright' by Elvis and my favorite version of 'Am I That Easy To Forget' is by Jim Reeves. Like you say though, it is all a matter of taste and usually a song by Robbins is superior to other singers who just don't have that golden throat that Marty had.
