  • If you touch a negatively charged object (e.g. the metal dome on the van de graaff generator in the video), you will pick up the same charge. That means that every part of you (including each hair on your head) will become negatively charged. As each hair is now negative, they will each repel each other so this causes them to stand on end.

  • why does your hair stand on end. I understand that it is the negative electrons repelling something,but how is your hairpositively charged??
