@Lobos222 I guess I must have missed this post of yours 6 months ago. Do you think if they removed the regulations for lead paint today that companies would start putting lead in their paint? Back then there wasn't much competition as few companies manufactured paint. Today, in absence of regulation a company would be put out of business in a New York minute if they started adding lead. You would see other companies advertising this fact in their commercials and they'd be finished!

@PaintMaryconley Correct. The only thing I disagree with you about is in your description where you say minimum wage should be set by state at a local level based on the cost of living. There should be NO minimum wage at all. The cost of living adjusts itself according to the local peoples wages. Just like at the federal level, minimum wage destroys jobs and should not be enacted at any level. Minimum wage does not force companies to pay more, it just limits who they can hire.

@jjenson2006 we can also add that . the workers who DO the best work WILL get rewarded with pay increases as the company grows and can afford it.. if they can't afford a pay increase what that worker has gained is experience and can then get paid more elsewhere.

"Companies DO (only) work for their own private interests."
Yeah, right. You try that then and while you are at it try not to pay tax or follow regulations and see if the Gov dont shut you down... Companies are only allowed to setup shop if they follow the law and its a benefit, overall, to society. If they broke the law they would be ultimately shut down.
"It's not government that stopped lead paint from being sold."
LoL, Govs stops stuff like that, its called regulation.

@Lobos222 Companies DO work for their own private interests. They do that by providing goods and services that people or other companies want. It's citizens welfare plays no part in it.
Companies should be able to sell anything they want. It's not government that stopped lead paint from being sold. People want lead-free paint and so they sell that. Just like you can buy fat-free milk or yogart.
You didn't answer my question about if you're stuck in a snow bank, please answer.

"Furthermore..."
LoL,like that word alone makes your former BS valid.
Companies dont work for themselves. They work within a society for the gains of both. This includes its citizens welfare.Thats why you have regulations and that companies are not allowed to sell paint with led in it.
Your notion of thinking that no one should interfere is just ridicules because companies economical participation is not just something they just choose, but its something allowed/regulated by society.
This girl is dumb as fuck.
