I know that to some it may look like there is frozen water between me and the dunes, but it is all sandy beach. It stays covered with ice and snow from the constant spray from the waves hitting the dunes at the edge of the freshly melted lake. I was actually out walking on the top of the dunes a month ago when the lake was frozen and the dunes were much higher. But with the lake being unfrozen now and knocking the dunes back into the water, you couldnt pay me enough to go out there. Hell, I'd probably get some sort of citation if I got caught.

  • now you have a feeling what a canadian winter is like.

  • lol yeah, the winter cold here is actually a big reason I moved up here, I hate summer.

I;ve actually spent winters in Canadia. My family has a cabin just 100 yards from the Canadian border in the arrowhead of Minnesota, right by the BWCAW, about 100 miles NORTH of Lake Superior :D

  • how come they're called lakes and not seas?

  • Of this I am not sure. I have always guessed though, that it is because they are freshwater?

    also, COCKS

  • Terrible song cover.

  • That looks pretty crazy sir, something I've never seen or heard of before, that is to happen to Lake Superior, but these great lakes because of their sheer size it's amazing what the can create or destroy, depending how you look at it. It'll probably begin to draw the sand back, as you suggested, return to normal.

  • biggest lakes in the world.

  • Also, the main thing I wanted to hit on was the epic transformation of the shoreline after the waves. I know it looks like there is frozen water between me and the dunes, but it's all solid sandy ground. It stays covered with snow and ice near the lake because of the spray from the waves hitting the seawall freezing. Crazy shit. I was standing out on those dunes last month before the lake melted with a warm week we had, but no way I;d go near them now with the lake pounding the dunes back down

  • lol but to a middle aged construction worker (like me) who has never lived near a ridiculously big lake like this, it is! Enjoy your snowboarding stuff though, if life hadnt required me to become a man of the house at age 12, I;m sure I;d be right there with you

  • 70 mph gusts aint nothin! i experience 110 mph gust while snowboarding
