  • Haven't been on here in a while...Thanks all for the wonderful comments. It' great to learn about your great Studes as well. To bad there wasn't a government bailout to save Studebaker back then...jk

  • sigh. this one is an absolutely dream. how much?^^

  • Thanks for the nice comment. Unfortunately, not for sale. Good luck!

  • You didn't have this car posted on Craig's List last year, did you?

  • No, not me. I saw one like this in Washington state for sale and another like it in So CA. There around and they really don't cost that much.

  • Oh man. I would buy this car just for the sound of those pipes. If I owned her, I'd probably pull up a chair and a beer and listen to her run!

  • Thank you for the nice comment. The exhaust system is a nice stainless system from Silvertone (Canada). They did a great job. I had to remove the starter and the starter came out without a hitch. Overall, I really like the exhaust and sound is exactly what I wanted. Thanks again!

  • @InsuranceFusion Actually there was around 1956, in a way, Studebaker Packard was put under the receivership of Curtis Wright aircraft for a few years until they got on their feet again, Curtis Wright was a defence contractor. I think that they were bailed out in the early 60s too but strangely enough the reason Studebaker stopped building cars in 1966 wasn't because they went bankrupt it was because they simply decided to stop making them.

  • Nice looking car. Do you still have it? How about taking it for a drive?

  • @Celie3678 It's about time to bring the Studebaker back. I sure would do it if I had the resourses and money

  • That car is the prettiest thing I've ever seen.

  • There's nothing sweeter than that sound. Peace from a queer guy in Dallas, TX.

  • @InsuranceFusion Actually there was in a manner of speaking, around about 1957 after the disaster of the Studebaker-Packard merger the U.S government put Curtis Wright aircraft in charge of the company up until 1959 or 60 when they got back on their feet. Studebaker actually never went bankrupt, they simply decided, as a corporation, to get out of the car business in 1966 and become a holding company instead.

  • Nice car! I've always liked the Studebakers of 1955.

  • A jewel-baby if I ever saw one! What engine, a 259? Like my Uncle George said"Black as a crow!"

  • @FamilyOfMan1975
