absolutely wonderful. Had the privilege of attending a VC concert in San Diego around 1971. Mostly Beethoven but flawless..He has very long fingers and his technique is just wonderful.

I love his playing... always such a NOBLE sound!!!

Way too much rubato for my taste. He has a nice sound but I like fugues played at a steady pace, rhythmic. This is kind of missing here.

Van Cliburn: Always brilliant --- never brutal. A glorious piano sound!
It would be wonderful to hear the complete variations and fugue.
I regard it as CRIMINAL that he left the concert stage so early. .
More credit belongs to his mother than to Mrs. Levhinne. I think he enhanced HER career more than the other way 'round.
After his international success Rosina began performing actively after decades of seclusion. And oh what a wondrous event was her Chopin E-Minor Concerto at age 81!

Nonetheless, it was a compelling performance of this fugue. Although it's a fugue, remember this is a romantic piece - rubato is part of the style, even with Brahms.
