  • Superb video here Novachannel, especially the acoustics provided by Yorks beautifully curved canopies. With a good 5.1 chanel surround sound system, its nearly as good as being there.

    5 twinklies from me.

  • @RailMon Many thanks! Glad you liked it! Looking forward to filming her in HD this year...

  • Very good to see the good old Scotsman, was it going from York to Scarborough?

  • @MC2251 Yes - the old Scarborough Spa Expresses!

  • @trainlover658 This might sound a bit controversial, but one or two people have suggested that with the various delays and cost overruns on its latest overhaul, maybe it's time it was retired and just kept on static display. I fully appreciate what a significant piece of railway history it is, but preservation shouldn't be about just one engine - it's getting quite old now, and I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking that keeping it in mainline condition is becoming more trouble than it's worth.

  • @AndoPrime91 She's a 3 cylinder loco which means 6 chuffs to a turn.

  • @AndoPrime91 4 chuffs? She's only got the 3 cylinders though. Unless I am missing something

  • @novachannel authenticity ;-)

  • long live the flying scotsman

  • @AndoPrime91 4472 is a 3 cylinder

  • theres no way scotsman's gonna steam this year

  • @RailMon

    Thank you.

I did know that and my comment was a reply to another comment but I can't find it! Lol!

    Just my luck.

I have been back and forth to York over the last few years to see what progress has been made so I am hoping that it does get finished for this summer. Still, better to do the job right than to only do half a job!
