World Design Capital Seoul 2010

Seoul has been designated as World Design Capital (WDC) in 2010 by Icsid. Therefore, Seoul is preparing various design projects for urban development ranging from education to industries, policies, facilities, and the designing of the city itself.

I like the logo (stylized Hangul calligraphy) for World Design Capital Seoul 2010. I think I can ascertain the stylized images of mountains & river, representing the geography around & in Seoul. I recall an excerpt from Mayor Oh Se Hoon's speech given during the launch of the designation, where he mentions Seoul's design efforts are modeled after London, because of its design reputation. I hope I haven't misunderstood him because I hope Seoul, & hence Korea in general learns to find its own...
