Using my dungeon crawler prototype as a testbed for new techniques I decided to implement point light shadowmapping. To do this I'm using a cubemap and render distance information into it that's used in the shader to calculate shadows. This way I can have omni-directional shadows without resorting to something like stencil shadow volumes.
