We figured out the carburetor. The "re-manufactured" carb has a defective accelerator pump. Swapping in an old accelerator pump from a spare carb brings the engine to life!

  • I had a question for you, i have a 1971 datsun truck. I am having carburetor problems as well. Fuel is going into the bowl but not the two ports at the top. I can pour fuel into the top and it will run for a few seconds fast idling and then kill itself. Do you have any clue as to what that could be. Ive been trying to fix the bastard for a week now. and can not figure it out to save my life. Its not gaskets blocking the flow.

  • That sounds MUCH better.

Is that a P series engine?
