Smokey said he wrote this as the reverse theme of "My Girl". In MG the singer's love transforms a cloudy day into sunshine. In this song "fun is a bore and with money I'm poor" because he's lost his baby.

@MrTraunza True that That. The Temptations were a group last time I looked and they kept on being a group after these gentlemen left. They still made hits too. ONE of the best groups ever. They were meticulous in dress, dance, & singing. Temps forever as a group not individuals.
