The Calderdale Seeds Project centres around the harvesting of wild flower and grass seeds from donor sites and sowing them on degraded receptor sites in order to increase the number of traditional hay and wildflower meadows within the area, thereby increasing local bio-diversity. It is hoped that this will help prevent the extinction of Twite in the South Pennines and benefit several locally threatened invertebrates and plants. The video shows seed harvesting during the summer at a National Trust donor site.
