@quincycurtice2012 I use a Canon REBEL T2i/EOS 550D for video shooting, and it works great. Look at Film Riot, they use a Canon EOS 5D Mark II

The best feature (and probably what drives me crazy about this camera) of this camera is it's built-in auto HDR. Plus 7fps, that's daymn fast! Canon's 550d and Nikon's D5000 may have the video, but seriously, why buy a dslr when you want the video capability? If you could buy a dslr, you could probably buy a videocam. Alpha 550's 2 main features > Nikon d5000 and Canon 550d 's video. enough said.

wat do u mean by beat it?
the a5xx series are in a different class to the d300
sony a700 is a better comparison to the d300 but the a5xx series has some interesting features in it which i find very appealing =)
