March 7, 2008, Kyoto, Japan. This was our breakfast spread at Motonago Ryokan, a traditional Japanese-style inn. We splurged on this place - it's in Gion (ghee-own), a district famous for geisha - but it was well worth it. We chose the "Western-style" breakfast (we weren't feeling like sushi first thing in the morning), and our inn attendant brought us up a whole bunch of food, including a ceramic plate with an open flame beneath it for cooking some bacon and an egg. Delicious and lots of fun.
When you say you splurged >.> how much. <--- plans to go for a visit some day(japan...not this inn specifically lol)

@BlackValleyRequiem Depending on the season, it's between $250-350 per night for two people. (Accommodations in Japan tend to charge according to the number of people staying in the room.) More info on Ryokan Motonago: motonago.com/en/room.html
