  • Great work. I knew Ray Carver and this is a great tribute to him. Anybody who knew Ray knew that he encouraged all sorts of expression. I can think of few more generous spirits than him. The other posted comment is just plain wrong and selfish on their part. This is great stuff and truly creative.

  • @SummitWaldo did you really know carver?

  • @SummitWaldo alright mr waldo, we need to talk about this. first, why iowa would turn you down, second why didn't they know what they had in carver as to deny his reccomendations, third - you must've known carver's first wife unless she never came to school with him... anyways, this is why we need to talk, the public pretty much only has his published work and a few weird documentaries, you could teach the collective something.

  • Terrible terrible reader...

  • @Narcissiaxx I'm assuming you're a Ray Carver fan and consider this as unholy a work as it gets? I really don't know, but at least it made it to someone with an opinion.

  • What is your direct email... mine is jamiewaller@gmail.com and I am on Facebook as Jamie Waller. My son has same name and he is about your age.

Would love to tell you more about the time at Syracuse with Ray and Toby.

We also had Alice Sebold in our class. She was a good friend and has great potential. I am jealous of her wild success with her novel, "The Lovely Bones." Suffice to say her style was a tad bit different than mine.

  • And seriously. Ray would never belittle another persons artistic endeavors. A Mashup and an honest effort like this would garner kind words...

  • @ripentheconclave .. Yes. Studied with him at Syracuse. He wrote my recommendation to Iowa and they

wisely declined. I had little talent..... Ray was an awesome dude... imho
