MARS RECONNAISSANCE ORBITER PROVIDES SOARING VIEWS OF RED PLANET - JPL
NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has been circling the Red Planet since 2006. Its prime mission has been to seek out scientifically interesting places and potential landing sites for NASA's next rover to the planet, the Mars Science Laboratory, which is scheduled to launch in 2011.
