In June 2009 we decided to investigate an area near our mineshaft and mill that had a hollow sound. Upon digging, we realized that the sound wasn't from a buried structure, but of finely ground quartz and gold rubbing together like sand on a beach.

  • oh my god...

wow, playing and digging in the old mine tailings... did you all bother to check first (via a safety sample) for arsenic, lead, or mercury taints?? it may look like inert sand, but it ain't...

  • the waste rock dump(s) may be good

to check out with a detector... the tailings however, if any, just be careful for mercury and/or arsenic content... a sample taken

to a local mineral processing lab would be worth your while perhaps.

  • Man I have been swimming in arsnic waters that are supposedly ....highly dangerous. Well I am fine and our gold is found in admidst the mercury too...its just heavy metals peeps it can be dissolved and expellled through the body in low concentrations and is not as bad as they make it sound!

  • you found atomic gold i think!

any way you can send me some to europe to exame??

    awsome!

  • That tailings shit is seriously toxic - its not for playing with!

  • not cotton creek. I meant cabin creek..... so it is the old Cotton workings... wow sweet, I always wondered where they were located.

  • don't know if you are still active, but if you are ... Is this the workings of someone with the last name of Cotton? ie, cotton creek? I own part of the old Coggins mine in Eldorado. .. I found an old grave yard there and several of the graves are marked Cotton along with the Coggins family, so I guess they were working together.

  • @My420man how do i know if its mercury or arsenic??? i think im finding some mercury and or gold dust...

  • so since then what have you all found out? May be a shaft under all the talling from the shaft.
